Wanpei and Mo-chan (ワンペイモウちゃん) is a gag newspaper strip by Fujio Akatsuka and Fujio Pro, which ran in the Communist newspaper Red Flag Sunday.
Overview[]
This is the third of a sort of "Red Flag Sunday" trilogy of strip features, succeeding the Wanpei comic. In these comic strips, Wanpei befriends the cow Mo-chan, and the two get into various antics among the rest of the Star System.
Hatabo appears in the first strip with Wanpei, but soon falls to the wayside as the new setting takes over. As with the previous comic, all dialogue is handwritten.
Characters[]
Besides the two leads, many human and animal characters from the Star System show up in guest spots.
Wanpei[]
The walking, talking dog of the previous series. He is fiery and the more emotional of the two, but is also the one to try to come up with ideas for what to do.
Mo-chan[]
A talking cow who walks on two legs, and will utter a "Mo~" at the end of his sentences. He may seem dull and simple, but can be strong in a fight when he puts his all in.
