Fujio Akatsuka Wiki

Below is the rules page when editing this wiki. Please read carefully and take them into mind when adding pages and content. There have been users in the past that have warranted blocks for outright vandalism or intent to brigade and cause trouble, which stands in the way of being able to build a community and add to this wiki. Of course, the line isn't always clear since sometimes a user can be helpful but also cause harm. With the new Wiki Rules and Blocking policies in effect on FANDOM, it should be made clear what cannot be tolerated and what is best for users to do in their contributions.

1. Be civilized: No personal attacks, no vandalism or comments with intent to harm or brigade other users (be they sysops or fellow editors). No bigotry or edits promoting such. If you see a a violation of this we don't catch, be sure to give a heads-up. No shock site linking or images either, just because Akatsuka's manga might have nudity or some questionable things doesn't mean you can post adult sites.

2. Be productive: No inserting gibberish or blanking pages to be funny, we contribute and build here. Don't needlessly edit-war; if you need help, ask a sysop or other user who can assist in making sure your contribution is heard.

3. No spam or unauthorized self-promotions: Please don't spam content pages or other users' walls, be it harassment, mindless self-promotion, or filling their wall with nonsense when they don't want that. Not much can be done about trolls linking this wiki on a certain imageboard or Discord servers in an attempt to get it brigaded, but something can be done if there are problems here.

4. Formatting: It's good to follow guidelines for formatting, but if you have a better sense of it and coding by all means let's work together to make this looking sharp. The original creator of the wiki left it to rot and didn't wish to help or build a community, but this can be changed and it's good to find solutions to problems. If a template or infobox isn't working out, let's see what could work better. Feel free to bring up your suggestions to a sysop here or make an open post on the matter with proposals on what to do.

5. No fanart or unauthorized republishing of fanart and edits: Official artwork for series and characters should be used wherever possible, except when keeping rule #6 in mind below. With that in mind, please do not submit anything that can violate individual fans' boundaries and strip them of their credit. Fanart is nice to look at, but this wiki is for representing Akatsuka's works and characters from the original source. Please use discretion when using scans of pages as well; sometimes they are publicly available through auctions and store sites, but there may be times that images are individually posted by Twitter users or other fans who do not intend them to be re-used without permission. If your image falls under "Fair use" or it is one you personally edited or created for use on the wiki, it may be fine.

6. No unauthorized republishing of Fujio Pro/Koredeiinoda images: It's forbidden and will get everyone in trouble. Leave the pretty images where they belong! Very important when uploading to this wiki. Please abide.

7. Cite sources if possible: It can be hard when some sources disappear on the internet or if you forget what book you'd read something in, but always be sure to add links with citations or Archives of such. If you are using another author's text or quoting, giving the proper attribution here can help more.

8. Check what pages are needed, and try not to excessively add too many stubs. It's tempting to add more content but if you have a stubbed page, please be sure to mark it as one or needing expansion so it can be kept track of. It's also good to look over "Orphaned pages" and other categories to see what else can be fixed and linked to coherently through the wiki.

9. Use discretion in uploading images from series: Although some Akatsuka manga and anime may contain nudity or even outright sexual-based material as gags, FANDOM policy is strict about this sort of content. While textual references to some series like The Virgin Toraemon and Hana-chan Sleeps are unavoidable when discussing their subject matter, it would be inappropriate to show certain visuals in an all-ages setting. Be selective and careful. This means that the cover of B.C. Adam is not acceptable either even if Eve's chest is not that detailed, cartoon nipples are still nipples and FANDOM does not like that.

10. Use discretion in describing content of series: Because of FANDOM's newer policies against NSFW and pornographic content, we don't want people thinking this is a porn or fetish wiki and it getting shut down. This is to educate on many different old manga, but even things that may be jokes or not meant as fetish material in context could be wrongly taken that way. We have to play it safe for everybody here.

11. Warnings are your friends: If an Akatsuka work happens to be for an older age demographic, a marker may be good to place on its page noting that its content could be more appropriate for ages 13 and up. This also applies if there is material that could be racially insensitive or have inappropriate gags and language that may have gotten it subjected to Kotobagari. Censorship or warnings of potentially harmful themes are not only limited to old Warner Archive cartoons, and can be useful to a new reader.

12. Be original! Try to refrain from directly copy-pasting content from the Osomatsu-san Wiki and vice-versa, or in plagiarizing text without attribution. While we are affiliates from the other wiki and it may be tempting to flesh out pages with information that might be on one and not the other, it doesn't look very good if everything is copied verbatim. You also don't want to be committing plagiarism on other peoples' hard time they spent at Cartoon Research or other websites, and offering no source or link to their own words. It's also not okay to plagiarize articles from here for your wiki about other Showa manga-ka like Fujiko Fujio or Kenji Morita.

13. No linking to or uploading of unauthorized translations, or full manga works: This will also get the wiki in trouble; there was once a fan who did translate some Akatsuka series, but Fujio Pro legal suspended their blog. Their lawyers also can and will find illegal uploads and Drives of the Complete Works DVD-ROM or eBook rips, so please do not get us slapped with a DMCA or in hot water with FANDOM by linking to those either. It may sound strict, but if you would like this wiki to remain up, it has to abide by the official company's rules.

There is often misinformation, sometimes deliberate or used as an excuse for plagiarism and attacks that information has been hoarded here, or that manga is intentionally being kept from readers. Nobody in charge of this wiki happens to own every manga listed here, and for obvious copyright reasons any issues of manga that could be owned cannot be shared in full on the wiki.

Please see the Resources for Fujio Akatsuka page for leads on where to purchase his manga. The Fujio Akatsuka profile page also has a list of recommended reading that is updated when possible, with the Japanese characters for each book available for you to put into your favorite search engine.
